Nature Weekend

(Altitude: 5000-7500 ft)
A 2 Nights 3 Days trip to the Binsar forest.

Binsar is a beautiful forest situated about 30km away from the scenic Almora town in Uttaranchal. The 50sq km reserve forest has a wildlife that still includes bears, deers, panthers, foxes and a variety of Indian birds. The Zero-point offers a panoramic view of the snow ranges of the Himalayas. The old Bineshwar temple, built by the Chand Rajas, still stands in the middle of the forest. And we take you to our base-camp situated just below Binsar in the Ayarpani village.

Day 0:
Leave Delhi at 8 pm.
Day 1: Reach route purple camp in Ayarpani (5500ft) in the morning. (Breakfast enroute)
Check into your tents, freshen up. Enjoy your lunch at camp. Rest and / or explore the camp site or just sit or sleep under a tree. Short walk to the sunset point to watch the sun go down across the valley leaving behind a colorful trail or catch it from the camp itself.

Day 2:
*Trek to Binsar Zero point (7500ft) for a view of the snowclad Himalayas. Relax and unwind. Visit the ancient Shiva temple in the forest. Lunch enroute. Trek down through the sanctuary to the camp.  Enjoy sunset at the campsite. Campfire in the evening.

Day 3 : Early morning Trek through the forest to Golu Devta temple. Back for breakfast. Spend a lazy day around campsite. Head back to Delhi after Lunch. Dinner enroute.
Reach Delhi early morning (5 am).

*Vehicles can be arranged if you do not want to trek at extra cost.


The camp site provides accomodation in tents with camping mattresses and sleeping bags.  You may bring your own sleeping bags.
Temperature at night may dip anywhere between 5 - 15 degrees C depending on the month.  Daytime is warmer.
The Binsar forest has a good share of wildlife and birds.  Sightings however are not always easy unless you are lucky and also really quiet in the forest.
Binsar is known for its serenity.  So relax and enjoy the fresh air and the easy walks that we have lined up for you.  It is also a photographer’s delight, so don’t forget to pack your cameras


Recommended packing list:

Cotton shirts (3), Pants (2)
Full sleeve sweater
Cotton socks (for trekking)
Woolen socks (for cold at night) Slippers
Sunglasses (with UV protection) Torch
First aid kit (bandaid, cold cream Sun screen etc)
Polythene bags (for packing your unclean cloths, socks etc)

Water bottle
Raincoat with Cap
Sport/trekking shoes
Warm jacket
Small Backpack (for carrying your water bottles and other things during a trek)
